Tombstone taillight wiring 3 Years, 6 Months ago
I'm installing a J&P tombstone taillight with attached turn signals onto a new rear fender and have a question about the wiring. Apologies in advance if these are dumb questions, but I'm electronically challenged.

In the top left picture is the wiring setup on the new tombstone taillight and turn signals. Each turn signal has one red wire and one black ground wire. What's left is one red wire and one black ground wire for the taillight.

In the bottom picture are the ends of those two leftover wires, which are just bare wire. They don't have those plug thingys (pardon my techno lingo.) Do I need to do some splicing or something?

Another thing is that on the stock taillight from my '99 was a blue wire, a yellow wire and two black ground wires. I assume one, either the blue or the yellow, was for a running light and the other for a brake light. Why would the new tombstone taillight just have the one red wire and one black ground wire? Is that one wire going to function as a running light and a brake light?

Thanks for any help. I still have to sand the clearcoat and then buff and polish it up all nice and pretty, but I'd love to get this thing done and installed before I run out of riding weather up here.
