ironman have you tried putting some grafite grease or WD-40 in the switch. I put the grafite on my key and work it back and forth.

Also, if you have a different key that you don't often use, try that one and see if it's the ignition or just the key being worn down.

Hey Ironman
Check everything that the switch operates. A likly culprite is the seat, is that mechanism binding? Check these after a "little" graphite.

I had to remove my ignition switch a few months back .I had lost both of my keys , now that is fun , it would have been easy if i could have unlocked the seat and been able to pull the tank back but i managed to get the switch out. Your problem will be removing the brakeaway mount bolts you will need a #40 AND #30 drill bit AND a #1 and #2 easy out. Center punch as close to the center of what is left of the brake away bolts. There are 4 bolts total 2 #10 for the cage around the switch and 2 #6 that hold the switch. Drill just deep enough to get the easy out to bite they should come out fairly easy good luck, if you need the bolts I have plenty they are allen heads. Makes it easy to install. send me a MSG I will mail them to you no charge. good luck BIG UGLY BEN
