Warrior Whine...? 3 Months, 4 Weeks ago

Finally got my lil' bike all put back together, but now I have one question. Of course.

I installed a Warrior starter and 4 gauge cables. Now when it starts, the starter makes a high pitched whine, Starts the bike fine & fast, just sounds like a 6 volt motor on a 12 volt system, if you know what I mean...

Is that normal?

Thanks--

RK

UPDATE...

I also lowered it with "the flip". LOVE the look and the way it handles (could be the new Metzeler 880s I put on helping out, too...and the Baron's 960 lb. spring I put in and cranked down stiffer, too. And yes, all at the same time... ).

Anyway...feels great, except for the seat. That's a PCS on there, and it used to be pretty comfy for short rides. Just did the 50 miles in to work, and halfway here I wanted to SCREAM! OMG, that was SO uncomfortable! I almost wanted to pull over, call my wife and have her drive my Corbin out to me. Something about the new angle and all...that sucker's going up for sale ASAP. I hope my Corbin feels better... I'm absolutely dreading the ride home, which is sad, considering it's running so nice ).

Ouch,

RK

The sig pic is from last week..the first pic in the thread was from yesterday...it's a little better now. But the starter whine...and the seat...ugh.

Other than that, runs great...can't wait to put the other seat back on tonight.

I save the Stebel air horns for the cars...but the little one on the bars scared a dog quite nicely this morning...

Bump...myself...

So, anyone with a Warrior starter in your R*, please let me know if what I'm hearing is normal...again, high-pitched whine when starting, but no gnashing, grinding, or other nasty shrapnel-producing noises. Just sounds weird but works fine.

TIA,

RK

I asked over on the RSP. This is what Odo said -

Normal. I put a Warrior Starter on my 01 M* about 4 years ago. It turns over fast and has the same 'whine' to it. I've also put the Warrior starters on other R*'s around here, and they all sound the same

Thank you! Relative peace of mind has been achieved.
