Here si some more information. The previous owner installed a few led lights that shine on the motor. before the problem started they would come on when the key was turned to on and would come of when the key was turned to off. Could his wiring be causing a short and if it was would't it cuase a fuse to blow.

Did you take the battery terminal cables completely off the battery, clean them up real good, and then reconnect them?

I recently had the same problem, the terminals were tight but corroded between them.

After the cleaning, she fired right back up

JKStar - Scrubber is on to something there. I pulled into the drive from a ride, powered down and went inside for a while. Came back out to garage the bike, and upon turning the key on, NOTHING. Fiddled around and upon removing the seat and tweaking the negative post on the battery, found it to be loose. Tightened it up, and she fired right up.

My problem was the result of having a dead battery. As a test, I swapped in my wife's v-star battery and my bike started right up. I should have tried this first. Thanks for all the great advice from everyone.

Weird that it would totally die just like that. You should probably run a check on your system. Make sure it's working right.

Thanks for letting us know what it was, I have been watching this thread wondering what was going wrong. Good thing it was something simple. I changed my battery out this spring only because it was 8 years old and I figured I had better do it before it left me on the side of the road like a Harley... No I didn't just say that. I didn't mean it really.....Its a joke, a joke I say!!
Noooo don't pull that trigger!!!.......lol.
