Throw a run-brake controller and it uses more. Throw on passing lamps and it uses more. Etc... Think the '05 generates about 29amps, though you shouldn't max it out. I wonder if there is a way to bump that up. Has anyone modded the windings on the generator to get more out of it or can you get am 05 or better generator winding housing and install it on an 04? There are available stator upgrades for '99 - '03 Roadies, but none for the 1700s...and believe me, with all the lights I've added to mine, I've looked. The '04+ bikes all have the same charging system. Is there some other electrical difference between the '04 and '05+?
