Okay, i did go through all the electrical posts to see if this had already been answered and I did not see it. Sorry if I missed a post somewhere.

The issue I have is two fold. The first I think I understand the answer the other not so much. I replaced the rear lighting with a vert license plate holder that has an LED brake light and two bullet lights for L/R signals from Barons. I understand that the change in load causes the blinker rate to go funny and I have settled on the Custom Dynamics relay module to fix that. Now on that, the reasons I went with the Custome Dynamics setup was so I did not just add resistors to fix the load issue. I dont want to generate all the heat associated with just adding resistors. Is my thinking sound there?

The second issue is that the turn lights are variable in the intensity of the light. on the front the Left turn light (still original) is dull. The right front is fine. On the back one runs on all the time, but still blinks when I hit the signal switch appropriately. The other rear side is only illuminated when the I hit the signal switch. appropriately. Ultimatly all the lights react how I want them to when I set my turn switch one way or the other. However, they seem dull. Now I did a bit of an experiment and shorted the two rear signal lamps together by adding a bit of wire on the connector under the seat. All the lights lit up as I would expect. The signal switch was all wacky but that is to be expected.

So is it a matter of load and when I add the Custom Dynamics relay part all will be solved or is something else wrong here?

Just to add to the complexity I am considering the Kuryakyn Plug and Play Run-Turn-Brake Controller for Yamaha,will the Custom Dynamics relay and the Kuryakyn Plug and Play Run-Turn-Brake Controller for Yamaha work well together?

I have the run-turn-brake from kury, though can't speak on how it works with your cust. dyna. part. I added passing lamps on my bike a few months ago. I pinched one of the wires. I patched the wire with heat shrink. That same turn signal (left), when I took the cover off, there was corrosion and rust in there and the bulb was really dim. I cleaned the corrosion, put some contact cleaner, it helped little but was still dim. Switched bulbs, determined that whatever bulb I put in there was glowing dim. So, I ordered a new turn signal. Problem solved. I never noticed if it was dim before I added the passing lamps.

So I discovered that Custom Dynamics also makes a RBT module and have asked if the relay and the RBT module work together. I'll make sure to post their reply.

Yes

Check the wiring carefully. I don't know how you spliced into the OEM wiring or the connectors you used but that the first place I would be looking at. Solder as much as you can and crimped those connectors well .... no pigtails.

You guys are awesome. Okay I pride myself as a great troubleshooter but I did not pass the "is it plugged in?" test that I always check first. The dim light I was referring to had other problems. I took the amber lens off and it was massively corroded inside. So all seems wired correctly, I even checked for ground and really all I need to do is replace that light fixure and bulb in the front and I should be set.

Again thanks a million for the help and sorry I did not do better trouble shooting upfront. That being said I did learn something!

I think it comes with a bulb. Its not too expensive. About $30.
