Difference between Hand Control wiring 2 Years, 8 Months ago  
from the 1600 and 1700 RoadStar. Would they interchange without any mods to the harness connection in the headlight bucket? Thanks for any and all help from the forum...

The connectors are different between the 1600's and the 1700's, one won't plug into the other. The pins are not the same either so you can't just switch connectors using the same pins. the only way to do this is to cut and splice which really isn't so bad, especially if you are thinking about doing wiring inside the bars anyway.
