worm,

Your lights, or factory lights?

It's a matter tracing the wiring back, one section at a time to find where the fault is. It's typically a rubbing wire that has worn through its sheathing.

Look for the rubs and wear... then re-wrap and tie off to prevent any more rubbing.

Start at the lights end, so you've identified what color wire is the primary power to them.

Ditto pull all the the passing lamp wires and replace them. Mine did the same thing, I was constantly chasing broken wire until I just replaced them.

I will always remember a famous quote from a machanic at a dealership while i was around the corner. "F*#k it, it ain't mine!" Needless to say I learned how to do my own work for the majority of the time.....

Passing lights should be hooked up with a relay and their own fuse! Run a wire from the battery to a 10 amp fuse and to the relay input. Run a wire from the relay output to the lamps. The other two posts on the relay operate it; ground one and hook the other to the sourse of power to operate the passing lights. If you want them on with the high beam then splice it to the highbeam wire. If you want them to operate with the low beam then splice it to the low beam wire. If you want them on all the time then splice it to the blue wire in the headlight bucket (that is the front running lights). Adding the passing lights to an existing fuse could overload it! Adding the relay to an existing fuse is adding an insignificant load, and having the relay and passing lights on their own fuse eliminates problems!
