I had intermittent problems when I swapped out tanks, but used the same sending unit.

On the sending unit circuit board(s) are (I think 6) little "feelers" that are on one side of the float (don't remember which side is which) that run on corresponding "tracks" on the other. Imagine running a comb over a sheet of lined paper.

Anyway...clean the "feelers" (CAREFULLY) and the "tracks" with an ink eraser and spray off with a contact cleaner.

Bend the "feelers" ever so slightly, as they are very fragile, towards the "tracks" to improve the contact pressure.

Reassemble...You should be golden!
