You shouldn't start it in gear it's more strain on the starter. You should even have the clutch in in N when starting to allow the freest spin over.

To zip tie the clutch over winter would weaken the clutch springs.... and they are weak enough out of the factory.

The only time you should start the bike in gear is when you've stalled it at a red light .... which we never do 'cause we're such good riders.

I park my bike in gear but before starting it, always put it in neutral. It's easier on the components.

It was a discussion from the past. Some people turn it off when parked and some leave it on. I never had a problem leaving it on...so on it stays for me!
