I ran an Odyssey for a couple of years and would not recommend a gel battery for anyone who stores the bike for extended periods. They require constant attention over the winter and if not stored correctly, quickly loose their life. They do, however, seem to work very well if you use the bike all season. I don't know how well they would work in heat but I suspect they could be better. Doc
