Interesting thread I just ordered this set from the website you guys posted. (gooddeals)Pyle 300watt system I wanted something small but, nice and you can't beat 300watts for $134.00! I will post pics and my review when I get them.

Smhowse, how did the Pyle work out for you? I bought the Shark 3 weeks ago just about the time everybody else was buying it. I really like the remote control that comes with the Shark. Does the Pyle have one?

Anyway, I have hard-bags and I mounted the amp inside the right one. I was thinking of mounting the speakers to the front of the bags, pointing up towards my ears. Can anybody give me a reason not to place them there? I'd like to keep the handlebars clutter free.

Being the passenger on MS1700's bike (which recently had the Shark radio speakers mounted to the handlebars), we did a lot of brainstorming about where to possibly put speakers. I think that if you mount the speakers on the front of the hardbags, they will be in a position to be easily kicked by a passenger, especially if you have passenger floorboards. Also, they would be mounted right over the exhaust, and would be competing with the pipes to be heard, and probably sound would be blocked by any passenger you would have with you. Not to mention that if you wear a helmet, hearing the radio clearly at high speeds may be hindered, because the sound is coming from behind you.

I have found that I don't hear the speakers from the handlebars nearly as good as the driver because I'm over the exhaust, his body and head are between me and the speakers, and the wind buffeting adds more noise. And with a helmet on, I hear even less. So unless the volume is WAY up, or we're traveling at slow speeds, I don't hear much of the radio.

The plus side: I can control the volume with the remote, so I can turn the volume up to hear at high speeds, and turn it down when we slow down.

Thanks, Schatzie! I appreciate your opinion. Please tell me: did MS1700 have to get additional hardware to mount them to the handlebars? I don't think the flat metal bars that came with them is enough, right?

Oops! djroger, I apologize, his speakers are mounted to the fairing, and they did not need extra hardware for mounting. MS1700 siad that you would need extra hardware to mount them to the handlebars....probably chrome bar clamps. Sorry for the misinformation.

They work ok, Not easy to hear at highway speeds. It came with the clamps, ipod holder volume control and usb power outlet. Wish they were louder but, wouldn't want to pay more$$ for them

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the info. I have a windshield so I am hoping they will sound ok even on the highway. Now I gotta find me one of those clamps so I can install them on the handlebars.
