I think (??) this has more value for CV carbs like our stockers than for other types of Carbs. I broke mine taking my Carb apart years agos while I lived in Little Rock AR (2001 Road Star). Never fixed it, and rode below 30 degrees on several occasions. I never noticed a problem with it, and those low temp rides weren't always short trips. It was like that for a couple of years before I sold the bike.

That said I am sure it serves a meaningful purpose. But I did ok without it.
