I remember checking that RM one out and came to the conclusion that it's 35% over stock for the 1600 charging system, and I think that puts it right there with the 2005+ system's stock numbers.

I was all excited, and then found out that the 2004 (like I have) is the only 1700 that uses the old anemic stator/rectifier system from the 1600s. I thought about getting an upgrade by getting a stator & rectifier for a 2005, but just decided to wait for Electrosport...

That must be why RM has not answered my email. They told me it was 35% of over stock but I asked for true amp rating and they have never answered my back.
