Main Switch Question 1 Year, 11 Months ago
The bike I am working on has had the factory main (key) switch removed so I am stuck with just the plug that goes to it. There are 4 wires and the manual shows that there should be continuity between the top 2 in the plug and between the bottom 2 in the plug when the switch is turned on. With just the top 2 jumped the bike will turn over. I haven't tried to start it yet because the carb needs rebuilding, but for those of you who have an aftermarket key switch where did you find one that will connect 2 pairs of wires separately?
Or can I just connect the bottom 2 permanently and then just run a switch between the top 2. The only wire that has power all the time would be connected to the switch. Hope that makes sense.

Thw red wire is right from the pos. battery after the main fuse, when the key would normally be turned on it connect that to the brown/blue wire which goes to the fuse box to supply battery voltage. The other 2 wires complete the loop for all the safety switches and such

Your the man Erb! This bike doesn't have a kickstand switch or a clutch switch so should I be alright to just put those "other 2 wires" together to bypass everything. The individual safety switches have already been soldered together so they are bypassed anyway.
