#289719 sailrider (User) Senior Boarder Posts: 281 Rev limit mph on 1700 ? 1 Year, 11 Months ago   anyone know what MPH or KPH I should be hitting the rev limit on a 04 1700 stock ignition and stock pulley in 2 nd 3 rd or 4th gear ? Have gone pumpless and just want to be sure im not starving for fuel rather than hitting the limiter . I don't have the nerve to find out where it limits out in 4th. Yes all I realize its RPM limited , all im looking for is the MPH in a given gear that it cuts out , third seems to be the logical choice saftey wise !! Since we have gears a chain and a cog belt for the drive train there is no slippage and it is a direct ratio & proportion to figure things out. Going through the gears at 4200 RPM will get you 42, 63, 84, 105, and 126 MPH. I believe the newer bikes have 4750 for the limit RPM and going through the gears at 4750 RPM will get you 47.5, 71.25,95, 118.75, and 142.5 MPH. On my own bike I have hit the limit in first and second gears and haven't tried in the other gears.   Logged     The administrator has disabled public write access. #289811 fireman922 (User) Chrome won't get ya home, but it will get ya laid.
