Non-Roadstar question 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Hello - my wife has a Kymco xciting 500r (I tried to talk her into a REAL bike, but no luck) - anyway, I just changed the battery and the speedometer quit working - stays at zero and all fuses are good - any idea why??? BTW, sorry to ask a non roadstar question here, but I am a newbie to the maintenance side of the world and am trying to learn - appreciate any advice you can give!!!

I have never heard of the bike that you are talking about. But I have a lot of Chineese scooters brought to my shop and I find that support for parts is nonexistant. As a result I am afraid that I have insulted several people by telling them that "it was JUNK whan it was brand new on the showroom floor!" Clifford

Sounds like it is time to call the dealer and ask. Guess you can check all the electrical connections. It not a bad looking little scoot.

Kymco's are Taiwanese and are much better quality than the Chinese scooters and have decent dealer and spare part support.
