FYI,i hate to tell ya there is a discrepancy with your new daka battery,it dosent look to be 310 cca,chk out this link pasted below with same batt sam pt#,same on deka site too.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Deka-ETX20L-Powersports-AGM-Battery-100-NEW-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ280551522974

That same exact deka batt was in the 06 R* i bought on 2006 which is a YTX20l-BS Deka bat that has the stock 270 cca which is same battery you have in link that you bought.

Look in specs where it states it replasces all yuasa YTX20L-BS batteries
which are all std perf 270 cca batts and doesnt state it replaces the YTX20HL-BS battery which is a true hi perf 310cca battery, the "H" in battery pt# stands for hi perf 310cca battery and it doesnt state that anywhere.

I have seen this same mistake in a few other websites for batteries too.

So when ya get thet battery look to see if it in fact is a YTX20L-BS battery then look on top sticker to see if it states 270CCA or 310CCA to see what you really got & let us know if it is in fract a 310cca battery.

Thats because if it is thats a great price in shipping for a true AGM/310 CCA hi perf battery that we here in RSC should all know is avail at such a great price.

All YTX20L-BS BATTERIES ARE STD PERF 270 CCA AND ALL YTX20HL-BS BATTERIES ARE HI PERF 310CCA.

ALSO,that Delka batt which is a good brand with the new AGM battery tech would not normally be $77.95 if it was a hi perf 310cca battery,it would be at least $90-100 or more even at good price, trust me i researched this a lot when it comes to best batts avail for R*'s with 270 vs 310cca.

BTW, the 310CCa battery at Oriley's by me is $110 + core on old batt and tax ,same agm 310cca batt is approx same price at autozone and advanced auto by me too.

But if you can wait a couple days i see many hi perf 310 CCA YTX20HL-BS batteries on ebay for well under $110 some with free shipping too,see some in $65-75 price range vs $110-115 locally not inc tax saving roughly $50.

Serarch YTX20HL-BS in ebay to chk them out.

Most are maint free, some are new AGM tech and some arent, some require filling with acid & charging prior to install and some are activated at factory ,charged, and ready to go when you recieve it.

so if ya go that route just ensure your carfull to watch for all the differences between the dif price ranges n those batteries.

I saw a great deal i could not refuse on a DRY hi perf ytx20HL-bs 310cca AGM battery that require filling/activating/charging prior to install because i got such a great deal on it,was $54 delivered to my door for 310cca AGM maint free battery from Ebay.

So with that type batt being DRY CHARGED needing to 1st be activated they have a long shelf very long life as in many yrs due to no acid in them yet so it will stay dorment no problem untill the current batt in my bike dies someday. Then i will activate that new batt and should HOPEFULLY be good to go for $54 for a 310cca battery, cant beat that!!!

I have bought batteries from same supplier on ebay with great results,i recently installed a hi perf hi cca battery in a friends 1100 Honda Shadow a few months ago. Its working just great vs the interstate std perf batt his bike had that was less than 1 yr old that would not start the bike if it sat more then 3-4 days which cost more then the hi perf hi cca battery i got for him .

The new battery doesnt loose power /voltage even when the bike sits for as long as 2wks like when he was on vacation vs 3-4 days where his 8 month old std perf interstae battery would drop in voltage enough in those few days to not start bike without 1st charging the battery or jumping the bike. Then after running 15-20 mins to recharge the battery some it would restart bike fine for rest of the day, even ok the next day,but after it sat for a few days it was NG/would start the bike but with new battery it can sit with no issues and rtestarts fine days/wks later.

===============

You may be just fine,i bought a std perf/std CCA batt from walmart for my other bike/77 kaweaski kz1000 8/2003 which is still starting the bike ok now in it's 8th yr,thats right 8yrs later.

Its a std lead acid battery that i chk once in a while and add only distilled water to it as needed which is key,std tap water has minerals and sometimes salt from water softners etc too that can greatly reduce battery life.

I also do put a miant charger on it once in a while in summer though i dont use the bike that much and also in off season too.

Also ensure battery & batt cables were always clean and freee of corrosion too.

I did same type battery maint on the 69 chevelle i have owned for over 33yrs,got 13 yrs out of 1st sear diehard and 12 yrs out of 2nd diehard using distilled water and maint charger on batt every once in a while.

Also ensures battery was full with dist water, was clean, anfd cables were clean in my 98 maxima daily use car with an Excide battery that was installed new in my car 2/2001.

That battery lasted /died in my car on 12/24/2010 missing a full 10yrs srvc by approx 6-8 wks!!

Doing the above can rerally extend battery life which i found out 1st hand with my 3 experiences i stated here when i got at least 2x and in some cases 3x more then avg srv'c out of the batteries in my classic car/bike/and daily use car too.

Thats hats not just luck when i repeatedly 2x-3x longer battery srv'c life then you would normally see on avg in 3 completely diff type/cases of battery use between motorcycle/classic car/and everyday use car when i bought/installed/maintained the new batteries myself from day 1 new till the day they died/failed .

This tells me when ya properly maint a battery it will in fact last longer which i experienced 1st hand 4x in a row with the 2 new batteries in a row lasted 13yrs & then 12 yrs in the chevelle, last batt in my daily use car lasted just under 10yrs,and the current cheap walmart std perf batt in my kawasaki thats now a full 8 yrs old & still starting ther bbike ok when on avg most bike batts last 3approx -4yrs max.

Same here, Rich.

Smaller, lighter, lasts 5 - 8+ years, +20% cranking power, comparable costs...it's about time the industry produced something like this.

A person could actually carry along a spare one on a long trip as a back-up given it would be so light and small.

That's to bad. Bought my 02* in march of this year and the battery in it looked like the original bat from the factory. Not to bad but I wasn't going to take any chances, so I went to NAPA and got a run of the mill battery. I think I payed $35 bucks. So far so good. Ya get Lucky some times.

I bet if my name was one of a selct 3-4 people here in RSC you would not have called me a BSR!

NO,NOT MISTAKEN/WRONG ON THIS ONE,There is something wrong here for sure because i just pulled the seat off my bike again for a 2nd verification AND MY DEKA ETX20L AGM manint free SAME PT # DEKA BATTERY as you just bought SAYS 270CCA RIGHT ON THE LABEL ON TOP OF THE BATTERY,CLEAR AS DAY!

Also, did you bother to chk the link i sent ya with another etx20L AGM MAINT FREE deka battery for sale thats also listed as 270 cca FOR A 2ND example of what i was talking about not being 310CCA or is your head in sand?

GUESS YOU MISSED THOSE 2 FACTS SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY HERE THINK I AM BSING YA,WELL I DONT WORK THAT WAY PAL!!!!!!,i HAVE NO REASON TO at all BS OR LIE TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE HERE IN RSC.

How the heck do you get off telling me i dont know what i am talking about when i have the same battery /same mfg/same pt in my hands to read spec off of an df you have nada/nothing to go by other then what store told you that could be right if that battery/pt# was redesigned/upgraded for more cca which may or may not be the case.

BUT I GO BY FACTS AND THE FACT IS I HAVE A DEKA AGM MAINT FREE BATT IN MY BIKE THAT STATES ON IT 270CCA AND YOU DONT HAVE YOUR BATTERY IN YOUR HANDS AT THIS TIME TO SEE WHAT CCA IS ON THE LABEL TO SEE IF ITS IN FACT BEEN UPGADED/REDESIGNED TO PUT OUT MORE CCA SINCE MY BATT WAS NEW A LITTLE OVER A YR OR SO AGO AND COULD HAVE BEEN UPGRADED.

I WAS JUST LETTING YOU KNOW YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE PAID FOR SOMETHING YOU MAY NOT BE GETTING,DONT KNOW FOR SURE BUT SOMETHING IS DEFINATELY GOING ON HERE,SORRY I BOTHERED TO GIVE YA A HEADS UP,I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER YOUR ID HERE AND LEAVE YOU ALONE IN THE FUTURE.

Rich

===========

RICH,I HAD MY EYE ON THAT BATTERY A WHILE BACK,ITS PT# LFX24L3-BS12 WHICH = HI PERF YTX20HL-BS 310CCA BATT FOR R*.

Its a very healthy 360cca ,is approx 4lbs 1/3 wt of std bike battery.

Thier other option PT# LFX27L3-BS12 offers a whopping 405cca for more time then for example the ODDESEY dry cell battery often reffered to here in RSC that givse approx 505cca for a very short 2-3 seconds then very quickly drops back to an extreemly weak 185cca when a stock R* has a minimum 270CCA batt spec.

But BIG down side is cost @ $250 BEING almost 3x more $ then a hi quality yuasa ytx20hlbs hi 310cca battery that are often talked about lasting 4-5 yrs on avg with some going as far as 6-7 yrs as stated by people here in RSC that have run them.

If it were $150 maybe even $175 i'd give it a try but at $250/360cca & $280/405cca its just too much $ for me to caugh up when i dont have a space and or mount issue of any kind to deal with on my bscailly stock 06 silverado like some custom and or bobber bikes do & could really benefit from it.

Also ,the 360 or 405cca lith/ion battery would be great with a hi compression R* setup especially if ya have a hi trq warrior type stater & starter solenoid along with the larger batt cables to take full advantage of the more powerfull 360 & or 405cca battery.

HERES THE LINK TO THE LITH/ION BATTERIES.

Hey Scott, looked up on the Deka site and it shows the ETX20L now as a 310cca battery. Called Deka and spoke to a tech and he stated that in Jan 2010 Deka went from 270cca to 310cca. So since yours is showing 270cca you must have gotton one before the change over.

So it looks like both of you are right. It's good to know about this stuff. Thanks for the heads up.

Scott:

You're right on the price. But, they have them on Ebay once in a while a bit cheaper. If you're ok at 270CCA, they go for around $150-175. YB16AL-A2. Thing only weighs 2.19 pounds...

I'm dropping an even smaller one in the Bobber because I can hide it in the electrical box and the lithiums can be laid down sideways vs having to stand up a regular battery.

Thanks for all the good info.
