Rear Tail Light Modification? 1 Year ago
|
|
|
My stock tail light sucks. I want something brighter. My current one has an LED cluster in there, but everyone riding behind me says that the light is weak.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Mines the same way....that factory led setup on the 04s and up isnt bright. I put red lenses on my turn signals and got the kury " run turn brake" ...what a difference! At night I see nothing but a red glow on the road behind me. Plus I have 3 brake lights now.

+1 did the same thing. And the people I ride with have commented how visible it is now

+1 the Kury Run,Brake,Turn! Running red LED turns adds greatly to rear vision. Here's a daylight pic, don't know if brakes are applied or not.

Thanks, Guys!
Just fired off an email to Republic Cycle inquiring about the red lenses and the Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake Control. Sounds like just what I need.

You will need a load equalizer or two....mine took two to slow down the flashing...Ive heard some only need 1. They clip right into the unit. I realized our tail light was too dim when I rolled up behind a Roadstar (led tail light).. in the rain , in my semi. Never saw him until I was almost on top of him...it looked like a dull pink.

Okay, what's a load equalizer? I'll be on another scavenger hunt in Thailand.
BR, that's exactly why I'm looking to upgrade/modify. Our ride over the last 4 days got caught in rain downpours. The bikes behind me said they could hardly see me. Not good in Thailand with the way cagers drive and tailgate.
Also, Glenn at Republic Cycle has already gotten back to me on the lenses and the TRB Control! Fast efficient service!

Hey. Mark - I've got this 100 led board in my '01 and it's as bright as the factory brake light w/o the brakes applied. A real difference maker and well worth the money IMHO.

Is that plug & play, IMTG? If so, I'd add it with the other stuff.

Yes, plug n play...sometimes the kit comes with 1. The RTB has 2 slots already so you just plug them into the unit.
