Bike won't start. 1 Year ago
Last noght I shut off bike to make a phone call. Well after that it refused to start. After towing it home I pulled off the tank and the fuel pump cover and I don't seem to be getting any power to the fuel pump. I can't find any breaks or cuts in the wire and all my fuses are good. Does anyone have any suggestions.

you can just unplug the connector on the pump and use two wires off a battery see if your pump is working as a quick check.

if the float bowl is full, the pump will be off. Can take off the fuel hose at the carb, stick it in a gas can , turn the bike on and see if it pumps.

Did it start, then quit? Does it crank?

I would start simple - test the battery volts & load test. Battery may have lost a cell or just crapped out. (Assuming it don't turn over)

The bike cranks. I checked the plug going to the fuel pump and get no power with the ignition on.

Check all your connections in the headlight bucket. I originally thought mine was a fuel pump problem, but it was all electrical.

Mine quit on me twice in six months -- once in between shifting 1st to 2nd while on the road, the other time just idling in front of the house.

I finally pinpointed the exact pigtail (brown six-prong connector) with less than 1/32 of an inch of play that was causing the problem. It's not causing the problem anymore.

I disconnected each connection one at a time and thoroughly cleaned them with an electronics connection cleaner, then applied some dielectric grease to each one. It fired right up when I was finished.
