Need some help with the meter assembly please. 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I am trying to replace the lights in the meter assembly, I have taken out every screw possible but I am still unable to remove the spedo dial to gain access to the bullbs. Is there a trick to this?

you access the lamps from the back, no need to remove needles. the lamps are in a "T" socket, 1/4 twist and out it pops there are 4, if using lamps from Radioshack, then I suggest you replace all since they are a 12v lamp, stock is a 14v lamp, the RS will be a hair brighter and it will be noticeable if you only replace the bad lamp

Running down the road your charging is putting out about 14 volts. I haven't heard how long the Radio Shack 12v bulbs are lasting.

When you feel the socket loosen pull straight up. You will have to unwrap the wire to the bulbs to get them out pay attention to how they are wrapped. Put the new ones in the same way and clip the excess wire off with finger nail clippers. Put the socket back in with the new bulb and one to the next ones. I have had my bulbs in for two years I am sure Erbman has hd his in longer than me.

For a buck 99, for 2, they last long enough. I got at least 2 or 3yrs before one blew out.
