Got a question...again 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey All,
Even though it will be a bit before I get back to the States...I have yet another question! I recently bought some LED strips..Amber and Red...and was planning on wiring them into the tail light and rear turn signals for more visability and also go for a custom look.

I have read a few of the posts on LED's but am a little confused about whether or not I will need a relay or voltage regulator....Both? Can anyone clue me in?

FYI for everyone...I really appreciate those of you that have answered my questions and sent me pics of their mods! I have a BIG list of mods I want to do to my Roadie when I get back(CAN'T WAIT!! )!!

Thanks Again.

Later from the 'Stan

If you are adding them with the stock bulbs for extra turn signals then you won't need anything special because the stock bulbs will still have enough draw for the flasher unit, extra lighting never hurts

What he said.

LEDs draw very little. I have mine run to a 5amp fuse on the auxiliary fuse block, but that's only as a precaution.

And thanks to Erbman and others for setting me straight on that stuff.

Thank you for your service, stay safe.

Good question. So redcam, if you simply wire the led strips into the blinker circuit, they'll flash alone with the stock blinker?

I'm thinking that's a great idea, Army.

They should work fine if you power them from turn signal circuit and blink with the lights, the Leds I use for lighting my bike under my tanks are actually red turn signals from inside Chevrolet truck mirrors,I have saved them when I change broken mirrors from work made for a cheap LED kit Free!
