No start Roadstar 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Alright I am asking for help with my Father in laws 2005 Roadstar I would look at it myself but he is in Florida and I am in Michigan so little to far to help him out, from what I have heard it will not crank over for him,he has jumped it at solenoid and starter is ok,said he traced and checked the wiring and can't figure it out,has tank off and headlight pulled apart checking wiring,I guess he tried installing a push button starter in a hole he drilled in sidecover and hooked to solenoid and just melted the wires on that,he is a old harley guy and not a fan of the Roadstar right now,he thinks the problem is with the ignition module so he is looking for one of thosedon't think that has anything to do with starting just running I believe,he seems to be at a loss and I am wondering on the solenoid itself so here it is I am open to suggestions I can give him he does not do much with computers so thought I would ask for him, thanks as always for any ideas or suggestions, bike has about 10,000 miles on it and was purchased new, sorry for long post

Did he try replacing the relay, or just jump across? As many as have had issues, it sounds like a good first step.
Decompression solenoid? If he removes the cover, he can manipulate it by hand.

it sounds to me that it has to do with something he did when hooking up the start button if it was me I would put it back to stock and see what happens
[quote] (he is a old harley guy and not a fan of the Roadstar right now) this is something that he did its not the bike falt

Yeah Ultrastar he has no patience for it anymore,he hooked up the button to relay trying to solve the no crank problem and fried wires because to much load across switch instead of solenoid I dont think he has replaced it yet just jumped across to make it crank over I guess I am getting details from brother in law is talking to him and because I ride a Roadstar they ask me
