Front signals help 11 Months ago

I had a front signal that was working but very dim and people could not see it. I took it apart and realized the black wire (ground?) was not attached. I resoldered that to the metal socket. Now I have the following problem with both front signals. When I turn the key on the one filament lights up, when I hit the signal to that side the same filament flashes, nothing happens to the other filament on either of the front signals.
I would like to change out the amber lenses to clear and install amber bulbs and omit the the running lights. Is this possible? I have 4 dual filament 2 prong amber bulbs #BP2057NA, which a 2057 was in there. Maybe this is the problem. Anyway, at this point I need a little guidance from the experts. Thanks.

probably corrosion in the socket and thru the fiber board as well. Happened to me, drove me up a wall. replaced the socket and all was good.
I'm not keen on no front running lights, the more lights the more visible, just something about living wants me to be as visible as possible. Any way, the blue wire runs the front running lights, cut the wire to the front lamps

I agree Erb. For some reason, the front housings seem prone to leak. My right socket rotted out a couple of years ago.
+1 on running lights. All I can get. I installed big rig running board lights where my reflectors were on my Silverado bags. Probably can't tell in the sig pic.

There was a little corrosion in there, I cleaned it up, but not on the fiber board in the bottom of the socket. I guess it is time for new ones. Where did you get yours? I will check with my dealer today, I need them ASAP.
I have been thinking about the running lights issue too, but I have the passing lamps right above them. I was thinking that eliminating the running lights would make my signal more noticeable when I turn it on.

Update - it was corrosion. I went to the dealer, but they don't sell just the sockets. So, I took them both apart and cleaned them up. Everything works fine now, unplugged the blue wires in the headlight buckets so the running lights don't come on with the key. Now when I hit the turn signal the brighter filament lights up. Also, I picked up the clear lenses from the local Yami dealer for $5.95 ea.

My front turn signals stay on all the time like a running light and thats the way it was stock. I dane the same thing to the rear ones. I purchased a new set of front turn signals with the dual filament bulbs and ran a wire from my tail light and made a set of full time running lights. They are clear on front n rear. I need to find a set of red lenses for the rear though. One of these days i will see if yami has them in the book. Lol.
