I get the slow recovery after a fill-up, but it usually takes about 10 miles or so. I generally just run it till it hits reserve every single tank anyway. As in another thread, it keeps your tank cleaner that way. I have never had an accurate gas gauge on anything, or it would bother me more. Have you trolled around the other sites for help? Hope you figure something out. My cheap "smart" phone goes stupid every once in a while, and the Android forum says take the battery out and smack it on a hard surface 2 times, and the phone without the battery once. It works. Don't know why, but it does. Tried it without the violence, but that solves nothing I know some with lesser issues can rap on the meter cover, but you're not going to be happy with that. There are other forums besides this one? Seriously, I'm not really sure what other forums would be worth their salt. I know some with lesser issues can rap on the meter cover, but you're not going to be happy with that. That used to work for me when it was occasionally required. Now it doesn't work at all. It's as if the needles are glued to their starting points. Appreciate all the past help and current best wishes, jd. I'm sure that meter panel ain't cheaper over there, and what are the odds there's one in-country? I'd ask around on the electronic shops. If you take them the wiring schematic, and a few troubleshooting values for inputs, they will probably jump in. I was searching for a new speedometer unit while mine was as dead as yours and found this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&vxp=mtr&item=190696751786 It is a little pricey but about 1/3 the cost of a new one. It seems to be a Road Star issue for quite a few, so perhaps it is somthing in their process/materials that brings so much of us to this point. It's not a matter of ordering another odometer. If I knew that was it, I'd just do it, but I don't want to do that and then find out that I still have the same problem. The odometer lights up. The odometer keeps time and still gives me the 88888888s across when I turn the key. It still resets on the trip meters. It still keeps the kilometers ticking. The needles just aren't doing their jobs. I did notice when I was taking everything apart to change the bulbs that the needles are both locked onto their start points -- as if magnetized.
