SKWEARprg has you on the right track. A friend mention the same things to me years ago. Turned out he was twisting his throttle a couple of times before he starting causing it to flood his bike. Also,

Well, I think I've updated the profile page. Can't get a profile avatar in without it looking like your "welcome to the clinic" sign! Thanks to all for the help on issues I have with my bike. Christy

Im not positive of your symptoms, but if you are having trouble starting the bike back up after stopping for gas or whatever (whien it is likely hot which some of the folks are saying here), try twisting the throttle all the way (once) , leave it there, then crank the engine ... works for me.

I've started flipping off my petcock as much as 30-45 secs before I stop. On occasion, it still does it anyway. But it has reduced the incidents dramatically..if it's carb puking that is. Man I dislike the carb pukes

As hot as it's been this year, I've been shutting the petcock off almost every time I stop. I shut it off before I park and let it run till I have my gloves and lid off, no puke at all so far this year. Just remember to turn it back on when you leave. I forgot and ended up feeling pretty silly @ bike night. And

Does it turn over, or does it give a half a crank, or crank extremely slowly, as though it had a weak or dead battery? If that's the case, you're running hot, and the piston has swollen. Happens when it's overheated. After it cools down it should be fine. I've stopped for gas after sitting in traffic, only to be unable to start again. Waited another 20min, cranked just fine.

This happened to me a month or 2 ago at a gas stop. It wasn't all that hot, but wouldn't start. We did push start it.

I had the carb puke problem the whole time I was in CO last week...almost every gas stop in the mountains, or picture stop, didn't matter temp, it was flooded. Initial morning start were always fine.

Thanks for the information.
