#83728 Sniper13 (User) The long, long arm of the law Fresh Boarder Posts: 43 Adjusting headlight 7 Months ago   Seeing that I work the night shift and doing a lot of riding at night I have noticed that my headlight on low beam only shines about 30 feet in front on me. Needless to say I have managed to scare the out of myself numerous times and deer, coyotes and various other critters are running rampite in my area. How do you aim the headlight slightly higher. Oh and running with high beam on all the time tends to po the locals. It's a place to start... I actually had to lower mine back down after doing this cause the high beam was too high and I couldn't see the road. Put the bike with the front axel 25ft from a wall, bike perpendicular to the wall, and upright. Measure fromthe ground to the center of the headlight lens, put a horizontal line on the wall at this height. The R* left adjustment screw is for vertical; put the center of the high beam on the line. The right adjustment screw is for side to side, put the center of the beam straight in front of the bike. I get flashed off every night I drive. They are very bright. Had my brother ride my roadie at night towards me and it PO'd me. It makes the ride much more enjoyable for the people in front of you. I have had to turn my mirrors to avoid the lights behind me when passing lights are on behind me.
