XV1600 Yamaha Road Star Cruiser Spot Light Wiring 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hello has anyone got a XV1600 Yamaha Road Star wiring diagram showing where you connect for adding spot lights.

I know how to wire them up using a relay etc just needed to know where you tap into the original wiring loom for the on/off switch or do you just fitt a seperate on/off switch and if so what type for turning the spot lights on/off.

I believe the original wiring loom has provision for adding spot lights just need to know where.

In South Australia we are required to have them wired up so they dip with high /low beam but we are also required to have a seperate on/off switch.

Can any one help

Thanks

Darryl--

If memory serves, I tapped in right inside the headlight bucket.

Also, this may be of some use:

Happy illuminated driving, mate!

Three wires.. the green the yellow and a black ground... feed the headlamp connector...you hook a hot wire to yer switch to the yellow or green depending on when you want the spots on... and... of course black from the spots to black for ground then the red wire to the lamps on the other side of the switch...

Try this thread... about passing lamps... There's a picture of the plug that even the dealers ignore when installing the add-on passing lamps... (I know I did... )
