factory electronic cruise control 5 Months ago
Hi, I just purchased a new 07 RS and would like to install a factory Yamaha cruise control from a 07 Venture or similar. Has anyone tried to retrofit one? and if I have all the necessary pieces will they work on my RS?

Haven't heard of it but curious. I'd guess Yamaha would charge a small fortune for the system though.

dude, you figure this one out and people will love you for sure. while you're at it, figure out how to do it on a pre-05 model. (02 specifically) As far as I know there's no R* that has electronic cruise control. Only throttle locks of various types...........

There's an aftermarket Audiovox cruise control that's fairly popular as an add-on for bikes, but it's vacuum-powered and requires some extra tweaking to make work with the less-than-stellar vacuum draw of a V-Twin.

There's an all-electronic counterpart model that I was thinking about trying, but I can't seem to find any documentation on it, and I'd definitely want at least a wiring diagram, both for the system and for my bike, before I lay down any money for parts.

It seems like it would be easy enough to do. The preferred method would vary by year, but the unit seems pretty flexible and can be governed and interlocked in a variety of ways.

Here's the vacuum-powered system: http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-CCS100-Universal-Vacuum-Control/dp/B00029WQTW

Here's the all-electronic one: http://www.audioallies.com/getitem.asp?Item=2501316&Sys=FR
