Thanks guys, I just checked the bike and yes the gauges are working and the lights are working in the gauge set. I will try pulling the dash later today and look at the plugs that you talked about.

Unplug the dash and check each pin carefully. One of the pins may have been pushed back or broken off.

Re:Speedometer isnt working??? 1 Month, 1 Week ago
Thank you and your comrades for your service to this country Fritz. I have the same problem with my speedo. Last week it and the odo/tripmeter just quit. Next day they worked and continued to do so for about a week. Yesterday, on the freeway, I looked down and they had stopped again. I checked the Yamaha shop manual and there is absolutely no info on checking the speed sensor or the speedo. It is just stupid that I should have to replace one then find out its the other or visa versa. These are electronic parts so cannot return either one to the dealer if you find that one of them is not the problem. Doesn't anyone out there have a clue for Fritz & I?

Re:Speedometer isnt working??? 1 Month, 1 Week ago
HooDoo, as bad as yours is, I think mine is even more Dinkidow. Mine will stop and start with a red light or a stop sign...hahahaha. It drives me crazy and some times when it does work it only registers half the actual speed. I have found that if when I am still moving, I can turn off the kill switch and turn turn it back on again that the crazy thing will work right. Well at least till the next stop sign or light hahaha. But with my last few years of Iraq I have learned to be happy with what I have and not hope for much more. I will be going back soon I HOPE, money is too tight in this country. In a few days I will be taking my Roady apart and putting it in about 20 boxes and sending it to the Philippines. Thats where I actually live now. That will for sure be the biggest bike in that country. Speedometer doesnt matter there....no one watches it anyway.
