LOGO on tank 4 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi Stars,

I am a newbie to the Stars forum. I just bought myself 2 Roadstars (Wildstars here in Belgium). I have question on the logo on the tank. I removed both logo's on both stars. I repainted one star in a very special soft blue pearl and the other one in antracite metallic with medium flakes. When I look at the bikes they miss something. This brings me to the thought of having a nice logo airbrushed on the tank. I like the logo of the stars. So, this brings me to my question. Does anyone have a nice example of a logo for airbrushing on the tank. Everything is welcome but I prefer the stars logo.

If you do an Internet search you can find sites which will show you custom painted tanks.

Here's one to start you off .... Bad Ass Paint

You can also find some very nice examples on http://www.customflamepainting.com/cgi-bin/parts/classifieds.cgi?db=samples&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=headlines&query=browsethis site.

But I am thinking of a logo which is Yamaha or stars related.

Thanks for the quick response.

Species. You might want to see if Yamaha is as temperamental about their logo as HD is. HD has it copyrighted 7 ways to Sunday. I don't think Yamaha is as picky especially if it's going on one of their own products. M2CTS. BTW I'm sure any talented airbrush artist worth their compressor will work with you to get the desired result. Good luck.

The antracite metallic I would guess is a black metal flake,,If you want a yamaha sig in there, I think a silver or blue star ghosted into the black would look kinda nice...

I am an airbrusher myself. But when it concirns your own piece of art I would like it to be very good and would like a second opinion on this. I was thinking if somebody has an idea to bring me further. I will do the same logo on both bikes. I have done flames and tribals but they all look the same exept the colorvariation. Ghostflames is an option because you have to look close to see the drawing.

Hope someone can help ....

Flashback -- The color is black metallic with medium sized flakes in the clearcoat. On top of this another clearcoat layer to straighten the sharp edges.

I would like to do the clearcoat with flakes on top of the pearl. I have brought a piece to the painter to see the result.

If there will be a sunny day here in Belgium I would like to take some pics and post them here. Unfortunately summer is still an utopia here in Belgium....

Hey there Species...

Click on this logo... for a large scale, down-loadable graphic... (Don't click on it if you have dial-up... It's a 600K file!)
