STOCK SEAT HURTS-HELP! 4 Months ago
I just bought a 2006 Roadie with 1500 miles, and I love everything about the bike, except the stock seat. If I sit so that my but fits the seat, I am too far forward, angled back, and I feel like I am tipping backward. If I sit back in the seat so that my riding position is comfortable (really ON the back of the seat) my butt hurts in about 5 minutes. The stock is 4WM-00. Any suggestions? I have been looking at the Yamaha stiletto.
Thanks
jdbeal

There are some really good aftermarket seats out there. I have the Ultimate which is very comfortable. There are also Mustang,Corbin and some others. Any of those are better than stock.

I have heard that Mustang puts you forward on the bike, any brands known for putting you back/down?

Most aftermarket seats will move you forward some... I still have the stock seat, but... (No pun intended) I also have the brackets that move the controls forward by three inches.
Moving your feet forward makes a big difference for the endurence your behind can handle in the stock seat...

I also have to vouch for the Ultimate Seats. Talk about a world of a difference! Like someone else said, all aftermarkets move you up some, but the ultimates weren't too bad in that department.

I'm 6'0" 220lb and it fits me like a glove

I too use the Ultimate seat. Great seat but very expensive. In the mean time you can make some changes to help a little. I found that wear blue jeans caused some tailbone pain because of the seams joining at the rear of the jeans. Also found that if i wore boxers or better yet cycling shorts that also helped relive some pain issues. Not permanent fixes but helpful until you find a new seat.
By the way I also had a Mustang seat and found that I could ride longer but the same problems came back.
