suggfestions - blinker/passing light bracket break 3 Months, 1 Week ago
As I went for a ride yesterday evening my right passing light and blinker broke. Thanks to the electrical wires they didn't go crashing to the ground. As I pulled over to inspect the problem I noticed the metal bracket broke where the stock weld was holding it together. Any sugestions or technical advice to repair short of buying a new mounting bracket??

Seems to be a common problem, if it's fairly new (or even not) go to the dealer and complain. They've been known to replace them for free sometimes.

I think you may be pushing it with a 2001. Never hurts to ask though.

I heard this from a buddy on his '02 before I even got my '05, so, not a 'new' problem for Yami. Never hurts to ask, right?

After talking to a couple Yami dealers they said that in 2001 the silverado edition did not include the passing lights and bracket in question.

I ride a 2000 R* and mine broke at the same point. I was devistated

I took it all apart and had a friend weld it back together, put a little chrome spray paint on that spot. someone really has to be looking for it to even notice.

Then a few months later on a long ride to North Carolina, the other side broke ,I had to take it apart again and had the nearest Biker repair shop weld it, so I could go back home.

Other than two little spots of non real chrome, I am happy compaired to buying a new one, and this one will never break again .
