Paint 3 Months ago
Hi, I was considering turning the roadie into a dresser with a woc fairing, hard bags and a trunk and getting a new paint job. I got an estimate of $3950 to do all of that from a quality painter online. It was a three tone paint job (two candy colors separated with a silver stripe). Does this sound right? Sounds very high to me.

There's some guys on Delphi doing paint jobs ... check out what they charge.

Kandy is expensive and difficult to do properly. When I did mine I had to 'learn' how to do it correctly so that it came out evenly. If the stripping is done with a brush, that also increases the cost.

Road Star Project. On the left side of the log in page here in the main menu click on "Delphi watch". It's listed in there.

I am not surprised at the price I have had three bids on a paint job for mine and they ranged from 2800 to 3800 I even had one from the guy who invented true fire he is not far from me and he wants 3500 for a old school flame job. Fifty Yet

Re:Paint 3 Months ago
I would say do some serious shopping. I had mine quoted from two different painters in the Toronto area, they wanted 2500 for tank and fenders. I kept looking and found a local guy who painted hockey masks, had done helmets for several NHL goalies. He had done a few motorcycles. He did the tank, fenders, side covers and hard bags for 1000. He did a great job.

However, he is no longer in business, I guess he may not have charged enough to keep at it.

I had my tank, WOC faring, both fenders, and side covers painted for 1500.00. That was with no air brushing at all.

Re:Paint 3 Months ago
I would think you could take the fenders off and the tank and take it to a painter and have it done for a LOT less than that. Not that I know anything about that, but I would think it wouldn't be like painting a car....
