#117371 chaneyd (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 9 Rear Fender Frame Cracked 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago   Need advice. Notice rear fender on my '99 sagged to the left a bit. Shook the fender and it moved about 6" up or down. Crawled underneath and noticed that the subframe to my fender is cracked almost in half on the left side. Is the subframe separate or do I need to buy a whole new fender? The subframe and fender are separate pieces. You can fix the crack and then reinforce both so that it doesn't crack again. Took fender off spot welded a strip of metal betweem the bottom fold in the fender to about 1/4 " from character line,ground down the sub bracket and mounted ,,glassed up the inside of fender painted it ,,fender is solid now and doesn,t shake as much either.   Logged     The administrator has disabled public write access. #122797 Frank_W (User) Hitting deer -- in the FACE!! Platinum Boarder Posts: 1265 Re:Rear Fender Frame Cracked 2 Months ago   JB Weld is pretty good stuff. I dropped my bike once, and it snapped the chrome guard around my front fender. I used some JB Weld, clamped it overnight, and it's been just fine, ever since. I'm sure it would work beautifully on your fender, especially if it's in a fairly unnoticeable place....
