Which lowering kit should I get? 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Hey everyone - I'm looking into getting a lowering kit for the rear, and don;t know which one to settle on. I don't wanna go too low... let me tell you my spec's, and you tell me what you think would fit me the best:

I'm 6'2", 265 lbs, and ride solo only. I've got an '07 Roadstar 1700 with Roadhouse Dooleys on - they're pretty low already.

1.) I'm really interested in the progressive shock's technology, and have heard good things about it. PCS sells their "Spring Slam Package," consisting of the rear progressive spring, and their lowering kit linkages. They claim the install is simple. Hmmm...

2.) Then there's the Baron's rear lowering kit (the one that looks like a cross), along with their "Performance Rear Shock Spring" (the yellow one). I've heard/read good things about that setup too.

3.) Then there's ALL the other, mostly overly expensive, options... like the air ride thing... too much $$. There's the Custom World International lowering kit that looks like the Baron's kit. There's the L.A. Choppers (love that company, btw) rear spring that's well-spoken of.

ANYWAY, I'll take a tally of all your opinions if you please.

Thanks for reading thus far
