If you want to get a leather piece to replace the WS chrome you could try here. http://www.lazydavescustoms.com/

Jezz Frank, you have started another Road Star revolution. I know a million people before have taken their badges off but with out you getting all fired up about it I doubt I would have tried it.
Taking that sticker off the rear fender and the two side badges on the cover really cleaned the bike up for me.
Its wild how such a small change can make such a big difference in the appearance. I am still waiting for my engine covers.
I did get my Nemesis ignition boxes (thanks Musky)! Can't wait to get my leads from Barron's.
Good times man, good times....

Well, with the controversy, now I'm thinking of getting rid of every last logo on the whole bike. New saddlebags without the Star logos on the buckles, new floorboards, and adding the leather cover for the windshield cowling.

I wouldn't let someone else's opinion sway your customization vision there Frank. Last time I looked at a Star Calendar there were bikes that didn't even have stock frames let alone a bunch of logos.

You could have a thousand star logos on your bike, or none at all. Some folks are still going to just assume it's an HD. It's kind of like how our Canadian Bros call snowmobiling, ski-dooing.

Yep.. gotta sit back and breath a little. Everyone is allowed an opinion. Take a break and see if taking everything off is really what you want to do. If it is, then do it. If not, take a little off and see what you think.
You could always get one of those "Hardly a Davidson" Stickers and really set people on fire..

Not a chance. I love my Road Star. I'm proud of it. If anyone mistook it for a Harley, I'd be a little miffed.

It's interesting that the new Stars don't have any logos on the side covers, and I don't think they have them on the chrome speedometer piece, either. I think even Yamaha execs, once they sobered up, agreed that slapping a logo on every possible surface is just lame.

It gives a leather trim around the chrome. Just like the tank bib does.
