Headlight assembly - corrosion 3 Years ago

Gidday all,

I was doing some maintenance on the Road* on the weekend and when I removed the headlight lamp I noticed that the light can had a mean growth of surface rust inside

.

I cleaned out the assembly and dabbed some rust disolver inside, gave it a good scrub and then sprayed some lanolin inside. All ok now but although a 2007 model I only bought it 6 months ago so was a bit disappointed that Yami hadn't treated this component properly.

BTW....I clean and dry the bike regulary and it sits in a lock-up shed when I'm not riding it.

Just wanted to let you all know that if you haven't already done so then it might be worth checking before the headlight can falls to pieces.
