I had the same problem on my trip out to Oaklahoma, 5oo miles down and 225 to go on the way out my bracket broke on my lindby bar

Found a piece of aluminum (or however the hell you spell that word) at home depot and fabed another one up. it only lasted 150 miles before it took a dump too

called a bike shop in Hot Springs Arkansas and had a guy make me one up out of a piece of strap metal. That held 750 miles back home until i got new brackets from lindby. Strange where they broke though, on the second hole, forward floorboard bolt. broke clean in half.
