Tsukayu Patrol bags 2 Weeks, 5 Days ago
Anybody running these? I was going to get the Sumax bags but these are a little cheaper.

I've heard Tsukayu makes decent bags.

I have seen them on a V-Star before, and they are a nice looking bag. I don't know about how well made they are though.

i have the Tsukayu strong bags and my only gripe is the carpet they use, its easily worn thru - my backpack rubbed 2 holes into it on the last trip.

I prefer the look/style of these "patrol bags" over the ones Yamaha offers for our bikes. I'm sure it's just me though, I tend to go for the more traditional look in a cruiser bike like ours since that's the way I remember my dads bike being.

Just know that the combined volume of the Tsukayu bags is slightly smaller than the stock ones(50 liters(ea.) vs. 52.4 for the Road Star bags), but when you save like $500 that's more than acceptable to me!

This is the Sumax bag I was looking at. They are a little more expensive and open from the front instead of the side.

Re:Tsukayu Patrol bags 2 Weeks, 5 Days ago
What would scare me about the bags opoening for the front is they may somehow blow open going down the road if the latch breaks or doesn't fully catch. A side or front hinged bag wouldn't have that problem. JMHO
