HI GUY'SI AM NEW TO THIS SITE BUT HAVE OVER 38YRS EXP RIDING BIKES ON THE STREET.
Anyway, question is i just bought an 06 silverado 1700 with ony 4,700 miles on it like new which runs great but i have few handling questions.
I noticed when i was out on the open raoa when the wind hits the large windscreen man that really makes the bike unsable/kinda jumpy feeling, anyone else run into this issue with a
RS silverado with lrg stock windscreen?
I did move it otthe lower postion whch did seem to help that some but then the wind hits the top of my helmet and when over approx 50mph or sothe wind buffets me helmet hard enough to be a real PIA .
Now with the wind screen at highest setting have have no wind issues behind the sreen but it make the from fork/bike jumpy o open road esp on windy day and if i ,lower screen for little less of a handling issue then my helment gets bffitted all over the place over 50mph.
My wife could feel how unsteady the bike felt at higher speeds with wind screen at higher setting but she could still leef it at ower setting too,its kinda spooky at times.
So i guess the best solution would be to remove the screen entirely and get slammed all the time air at higher speeds which get tiring in my mid 50's or maybe one of you guys know of an aftermarket wind screen that more arodynamic as to not affect the fork as much as high speeds so bike stays more stable tats also high enough to keep the air from buffitting my helmet & head all over the place too,i am approx 5'-9" tall if that makes any diff on windscreen recommendation.
Any solutions or suggestions for a better more arodynamic wind screen (esp one that extends out in front of hand grips for cooler weather) that may handle better and be high enough to stop buffitting of my helemt/head would be greatly appreciated. Please if possible include where to buy it/mfg/& pt etc so i can chk out and or buy the correct one your suggesting .
Thanks...Scott
