You can get away with the flip if you don't hit any bumps.

I ride single mostly and did the flip with a 160 rear tire.

I bottom out on potholes and am afraid I will tear out the bracket. I try to avoid any hole or bump, but with the shadows on the road...forget it.

I don't want to crank up the spring pre-load any to give me the softest ride.

I may un-flip soon after I get my valves tuned and get time.
