I was curious about that superstition I know green was bad luck for british race cars but why bikes. I never found anyone that could explain why.

I have a 99 RoadStar that I'm trying to get new wheels on and just got an email from the folks at Cycle Image--they said they can machine the rear wheel for me for $175.00. Their site says they don't need a core, but if you have one, you can save about [$700] if you buy their full conversion... but I figure I really only spent about [that] so far.

I bought a front 'liner wheel off of a guy here (right around $300 shipped... thanks Biggs!) and a mint rear with rotor on ebay ($350 shipped!)

So, for about 650, not counting the upcoming shipping and handling, machining, and beer labor to get some install done... I'm out the door for under $1000. I didn't want chrome, so that helps too.

Between this awesome forum, eBay, CraigsList, and TX Powersports (Thanks a million to Andy McBride for wasting many, many hours of his day on me ) I've been very lucky so far.

If I can, I'll try to get some pics and verbiage along the way.

I was thinking of painting mine the same Urban Green color as my Z4... I love that color and think with all the black I'm planning on putting with hints of chrome here and there, that would look badssa. I haven't had any bad luck with my car (other than the nose being taken off a few times, but that wasn't really "bad luck"... just that tihs happens sometimes... and it happens to me.
