Vibration 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I have a stock 07. my passenger complains about excessive vibration coming through the sissy bar at about 65mph. I don't feel it. I bought a new rear tire and had it balanced twice. too expensive to get a new passenger. Is this the nature of the beast? never had the problem on my harleys. Any ideas?

Sure it's not coming from the foot pegs. The stock passenger seat and the rider seat for that matter sucks! Since you've done the tire thats the only thing I can think of. Of course I've not rode the back seat So I might be wrong, not the first time though

My passenger says the same thing about the backrest. I too would like to know if there is a fix for it.

My '09 Roadstar vibrates at practically any speed. I can imagine what its like for a passenger.
The bike is not nearly as smooth riding as my Honda Areo was. Its probably transmitting from the frame to the backrest and passenger floor boards both.

I'd be interested in what others have to say about this, I'm too new to the Roadie to know anything.

If my wife was moaning about a vibration, I don't think it would be a complaint.

my wife has also stated that there is a lot of vibrations in the back rest.

Im going to guess that if one were to try and "fix it", they would need some rubber bushings to put in at the mounting points to reduce the vibration from the fender to the bar, but then it would only reduce it slightly if at all.

Just a thought. If you have installed new pipes lately, they may need to be adjusted. When I changed pipes I didn't tighten them in the proper way and experienced significant increase in vibration. I felt that through the entire bike though.

DS,

I am having the very same experience. A recent pipe change has brought on a lot of new vibration. I need to work on them, and get them better situated, so that there's less vibes going through the whole bike.

Could it be the sound waves produced by the mufflers doing a lot of that? Might be a silly question.
