selling stuff for paint job, need color recs 1 Year, 1 Month ago
hi all~

I've decided to sell off a mikuni carb and 31 tooth pulley (see classifieds!) and put the money towards a new paint job. I've been thinking about the paint for a year now, and i still can't decide what colors to go with so i'm curious what you all would think might look good on my bike w/ the corbin bags that i have. I think the bags give the bike an old Studebaker car feel or something along those lines, and i'd like the color choice to really compliment that look.

its not in the picture below, but i also have a reckless fairing that i've decided to keep so that would need painted too.

give me some ideas! i dont want flames or skulls, but two-tone might be OK.

With the silver base color some kind of candy color would look nice over it

you wanting a nostalgia look or hot rod look ? i'm bias to the classic/nostalgia.
i get nostalgia paint scheme inspired by riding thru town where houses were built in the 1940's & 50's.
the homeowners have remodeled and repainted the exterior with colors of that time period.

Make it your own.

Wow, everybody's input will be as varied as a year's worth of your own ideas. It'll still come down to what YOU WANT. I've been thinking the same thing for mine and that's why I haven't done it yet. Good luck.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN! And let us see the progress

i agree 100% with twowheeltherapy. took me about 2.5 years of tossing ideas around until i found something that was just what i wanted. imho, those hard bags are just screaming a pretty old school color of the studebaker time frame.
just do what feels right to you. it may take some time. but, you'll immediatley know when you come across or think of the color/s that right for you.
