21 inch wheel conversion 1 Year ago
had a brain storm while looking for a 21 hd front tire to relace my r* hub to. If one was so inclined could you not just buy the lacing kit for a 21 in harley wheel and be done with it?? anybody have some input on this??

I am not sure if I understand your question right, Dutch guy he??

But i think you ask if a Roadstar hub will fit with a harley rim?? In that case the answer is no. The roadstar has more spokes then the harley

Re:21 inch wheel conversion 1 Year ago
yes sorry to clarify my idea was to buy a spoke kit such as this one https://www.denniskirk.com/H54233.sku?utm_source=shopping&utm_medium=cse take apart the stock r* rim and hub and just respoke it with those spokes and have a 21" wheel. I'm not sure how many spokes the roadies rims are but I took a guess at 40 is this wrong?

okay well sombody stop me if this has been done but im gonna continue to post in here as my search unfolds that way if the question comes up again it might help someone. I took some time today to study this now r* wheels are 56 spoke wheels did some looking the only other wheels I can find with that number of spokes are off a 88 honda shadow but alas only 19 inch hmmmm so back to changing out the whole hub then ldcustombikewurks has an axle conversion for the r* to a harley hub but its a bit spendy so I will keep looking there has to be an reletively inexpensive way to do this conversion I will find it

if you know someone that has a lathe and can get close tolerances you could get a 21" rim with 1" bearings and have custom reducing bushings made with the wheel spacer built right in that way you can run the stock axle and dont have to buy one from looney but thats if you know a guy or find one that will do those cheap for you. im still running stock axles with my harley wheels i had the reducers made up out of stainless

I did the conversion to a 21 inch with the roadstar hub. You have to make a new rim for it and then spoke it and done, it is the cheapest way to go.

by "make" you mean what exactly, drilling a rim to fit the spokes??
