Anyone have the Santee 10" apes ? Good, yes or no ?

I've been kickin' the ape idea and like the black 10" to start and keep the cost minimal by using the stock cables. The 10" apes (1" bar, 32.5 width, 8" center, 7" pullback) are $36.99 thru cruisercustomizing. Will these work ? Do they need to be dimpled or not, don't think it states they are. Ape Masters what's the scoop on these ?

Well after several cold BUDWEISERS and tired of contemplating the "APE" idea and to this point no one chimed in on my previous post, I WENT APE AND ORDERED THE BLACK SANTEE 10" BARS As they say, Haber que ! (AKA: We'll see)

Cool! I had 10's & they are nice with no mods. I've changed to 16's and my stock wires & throttle cables work fine. Just changed clutch & upper brake line for now.

BTW found a ebay site that has +6 cables (clutch , push & pull) for $40-$45 each shipped.

Good luck ! 10's are cool change!

Yep stock. If u open your headlight youll see about an extra 6" of harness. I just unhooked the tab that holds it down and no prob. When u do the 10's youll prob see how much slack u have. I did same thing started with 10's then got the feel & boom next thing 16"apes

Important note my apes are 16" x 35w x 10"centerx 9" pullback. You may have issues with stock if you get wider & more pullback

Dont mean to thread jack..

Do all apes feel like their going to break when you hit the brakes?

i test drove a 07 roadstar 1700 when i was looking, i liked the bars but when i hit the front brake it felt like the bars were going to snap.

im looking for a set of bars. either drag or ape.
