i need a beefier rear suspension 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Ok. Here goes. While riding in the Run For The Wall ride with my bag and wife. No pun there. Lol. I noticed on several occasions that my bike was bottoming out in some dips. Anyone know of something i can do to fix this. I weigh about 270lbs, wife is about 200lbs, and bag was about 50lbs...

A progressive spring would be my suggestion.

Would i just replace the stock spring with the progressive spring? That sounds too good to be true. Lol.

my shock went out to lunch @ about 22k mi. Bottoming out, bouncing all over the road, just wasn't safe/fun to ride. Bought a Progressive #465 shock, life is good

+1 on the 465. World of difference. Not just the spring, but the damping also is like night & day.

You can change just the spring for fairly cheap or change the whole thing out with a aftermarket spring or air ride. Wife and I are in love with the tricky air ride

Got mine used from fireman for about half the cost of new but you can get a ”big bore air ride” for like $800ish from www.pacificcoaststar.com pretty darn close to a tricky. I dont even feel the bumps anymore
