Hey smoke, do you have to pre-set your air pressure or can you change it on the fly? How much aire pressure do you need. Is it dependent upon if you are 2 up and baggage or what...

You can change on the fly its just alot slower than if your body weight is off of it. air pressure is totally up to payload. Tampa has his on a pressure switch (120psi) for a solo rider so I would think im about the same at 220lbs. And I would say 130-135psi for 2 up and gear. The air shock will come with a compressor.

Smoke is correct.

120lbs of air pressure takes it up to stock height and firms it up pretty good at that pressure. I typically take a few pounds out to go riding 1-up so I get a little bounce. I'm only 160-170 soaking wet...

I can't speak to 2-up. But, it's just a matter of adding more air until you hit that sweet spot. The pressure switch just automates stopping the compressor at a certain point. But, if you put it on a toggle like it's designed, you can set it at whatever pressure is appropriate for the weight. I think Tricky calls maximum pressure at 180'ish. That should probably be enough pressure for most any weight.

I have progressive spring with stock shock. Only 13K+ on my bike though.

Still wasn't happy till I put progressive springs in front. They make it a totally different bike!

I needed a beefier suspension as well... tried the big boar and tricky... not good enough... I went with the air bag setup... now I can haul whatever I want or need with no worries of bottoming out... if I air it up enuf, its like riding a rigid... best air ride hands down...

Do you have to buy a special tool or the Baron's spring removal tool to change out just the rear spring?

I bought a GL1800 rear shock off of Ebay for $80. It is rated for 900lbs and has a hydraulic preload adjustment that can be done on the fly. Best upgrade so far and a great price over $800 air systems.
