Hard bags and trunk 11 Months ago
I'm looking at a set of bags and trunk, and they come in a gloss black, but I'm not sure how they'd match my paint, or if htey'd look strange. However I'm not sure how I'd even paint them to match.

Also, any way to make it not look so "empty" back there with the trunks? I've seen a couple with them, and htey look way to high. I'm guessing it's because the bags don't go that far back, or something like that.

This is how she looks from behind:

drop the bags and move them back. Mine are dropped 3" and moved back 3". Several here have done it with home kits that only cost a few bucks and there are companies that make lowering brackets. Installing for the first time would be a great time to do it. Good luck.

Nice looking ride you got there.

Thanks, she's come a long way from the ratty machine that barely ran when I got her.

Do you have any pictures from the rear? I'm making my own bag and trunk mounts, so I can do pretty much anything I want, but I have to think of it first, which is hte hard part for me.

This one shows where they were and where the are now.

both lowered. you will also have to space the left one out an inch or so to miss the belt guard. I spaced both of mine out so that it looked the same. If anyone has any ideas to fill the gap I would love to hear them.

Fatter fender. Flare it out, then you could put a 210+ on the rear to fill that gap.

Here is how I mocked mine up. You can see the brackets are still bolted to the bags. I then just measured from bracket hole to frame hole and drew up some simple brackets, took them down to a local fab shop and had them cut and rill them. I forget how much but it was very little. I then went to Home Depot and located some nylon spacers about an inch thick and used on the rear fender brackets and bolted the lower front part with no spacers. Works great. Been that way for about 3,000 miles now with no issue.

Nasomi, your bike looks a lot better out of the garage.
